Buck Commander Philosophy

From Ducks to Bucks

For years the only deer that were killed at Duck Commander were the ones that got near our duck blinds. Many have asked why we haven’t made a deer hunting video, but while Phil enjoys a good deer steak from time to time, his passion has always been for the ducks.

Discussions around the dinner table about deer hunting went more like, “You know, Phil, you can feed more people with a deer than a duck…” rather than anything too serious but Buck Commander was always in the back of my mind. Then, after talking to my good friend and avid deer hunter Michel DeJean and carrying on the conversation with several other friends, Buck Commander was born.

The guys and I discussed the passion it would take to make the same quality video the Duck Commander fans have come to expect, and with lots of ideas and anticipation we launched into the 06-07 deer season. We hunted all over the country with a load of Major Leaguers who had come to be friends of the family linked by a passion for the outdoors and a love for hunting. Jep and I took off with a cameraman in toe, and Phil and Jase stayed in the duck blind ready to contribute when an ole deer appeared in the wrong place at the wrong time.

We look forward to more great hunts, putting more deer steaks on the table and making great friends along the way. I think you’ll see yourself and huntin’ buddies in our videos, and hope you enjoy watching the journey. So come along as we take the “cut ‘em all, Jack” style from ducks to bucks!

Buck Commander Philosophy

Buck Commander was formed on the heels of a rich history of entertaining hunters through the Duck Commander series of videos. In creating Buck Commander, one of our goals was to capture the same passion for deer that the Robertson family has shown for years with ducks; another was to have a great time doing it. It is not the size of the horn, score or location that makes a hunt successful; it is the experience and enthusiasm for the hunt. And that’s what makes it worth watching!

Deer hunting should be fun. We, in no way, claim to be “professional” deer hunters. We’ve brought together a group of guys who work hard at what they do, are successful in their fields and who hunt deer just like you. We plan to bring a freshness and a realness to deer hunting videos, and hope our passion and excitement for the sport come through.
