Mobile Command Post

Tuesday, June 30th, 2009
Hello fans and followers of Buck Commander. My name is Carter Smith and I am
proud to say that Buck Commander has hired me to serve as National Sales
Manager.
BC\'d up

If you have been to any of the outdoors hunting shows or concerts
Buck Commander has been associated with, you have probably seen me. As Buck Commander
has grown over these past few years, so too has the need to keep pace with the
managing and growth of sales demands. Well, Chipper and I have known each other for the past 15 years. We have been through A LOT together, and he has enough on me for some serious blackmail and I have plenty on him as well. So we have agreed that the best thing for us to do is keep each other happy (most of the time anyway).
As Willie Robertson aka “Boss Hog”, CEO and as he likes to put it, “the brains of the operation” (but most notibly referred to as the son of the Duck Commander himself, Mr. Phil Robertson) was molding and shaping this culmination of ruthless hunters/professional athletes, he knew he could put together a unique creation unlike anything the hunting industry has ever seen. When all the smoke cleared, Buck Commander was formed : Willie Robertson, Chipper Jones, Adam LaRoche, Matt Duff, Ryan Langerhans and Tombo Martin. A close knit group that would proudly and deservedly become known as “The Buckmen”
The Buckmen have all reached success in their profession, and have now reached success in their passion as well, HUNTING!! Trust me, when you watch the Buck Commander DVDs it won’t take you long to see that there style and approach to hunting is just like yours and your buddies, “Good ‘ol boys havin’ too much fun!”

So I guess that is a prelude as to how I became involved with Buck Commander, and the reason I am proud to be able to call these guys my true friends…..and going hunting with ‘em ain’t too bad of a deal either ; )

While at ATA this past January with Chipper, I had a good, long talk with Matt Duff about
the direction he would like to see the company move towards. As we continued
to talk I became more and more enthralled at what Duff was saying. Finally,
I just said, “I’m your man!” When Duff
returned to Louisiana he had a talk with “Boss Hog” about the possibility of hiring me to handle a portion of the sales side of the company. I will forever be indebted to Duff for having that talk with Willie. So Willie called me, and invited me and my family to West Monroe, Louisiana for a weekend. We had a blast, our wife and our kids hit it off with Willie and his awesome family. We got to know one another really well over that short time we spent together. At the end of the weekend Willie asked me if I would like to take on the position as National Sales Manager ( I guess I passed the very informal interview process). He said he wanted someone that
knew all the guys, and someone they could trust. Well, that was that, and here I am now.
I am currently on a summer “tour,” traveling across much of the country, hitting every trade show I can. Just in case you haven’t seen the “Buck Commander Mobile Command Post” that I travel in, I have attached some pictures for your entertainment. The RV we pimped out!A closer look at the BC RV
But if you know Buck Commander, you know we don’t do things the same way others do. So, what did we do with that RV? We sent it straight to Joe Warner (Tokyo Joe) at Camo Clad in Illinois to have it wrapped with our logos, pics of the Buckmen and Duckmen and of course, plenty of camo. The job Joe and his guys did was phenomenal!! Bold and “in your face,” just the way we like it. So it was time for me to hit the road… I went to Columbia, SC for the Palmetto Sportsman Show, Sticks Country Music Festival, which we helped sponsor, in Auburn, AL,Rome River Jam in Rome, GA where our good friend and BC supporter, Luke Bryan was the headliner, then to BamaJam in Enterprise, AL, to CMAs in Nashville and winding down in Jacksonville, FL at The Big Buck Expo.Luke Hanging out at the BC boothWe love meeting you fine Americans along the way. The next few months we have planned are listed below. Come out and see us, say hello, hang out and of course don’t forget to grab our latest DVD, Buck Commander II BALLISTIC!! showing a variety of hunts from several different areas of the country, but beyond that, it shows you the true side of The Buckmen, a core group of truly passionate hunters doing what they love to do.
You will soon notice that The Buckmen and their camps are just like you and your camp, “Good ‘ol boys having too much fun!!!!” You will not be disappointed. We specialize in unpredictability!!!
We are also really excited about our mini show on ESPN 2 coming out on July 5th. You want entertainment? This is what you are looking for!
Again, don’t forget to take a look at the schedule below to see when Buck Commander is coming to an area near you!
We look forward to meeting you, and as always, we really appreciate your support.

DVD is done, traveling the good ole USA

Okay, I said i would tell you about the “snug” baseball suit.  During spring training for MLB, I went down to sunny Orlando and filmed the some “mini” shows for ESPN.  Matt, Adam, Chipper, and I did interviews and I wore the Buck Commander uniform in all the shots.  Why? Who knows.  I just thought if my partners get to wear uniforms all the time, I should be able to as well.  Now, I prefer the 80’s style of tight fitting uni’s.  Check out the show on ESPN 2 JULY 5 and it will run for the rest of year.  Also don’t forget JULY 4 Duck Commander is on Outdoor Channel.

The DVD is done and on sale.  All Fun, check it out and let us know what you think.  I have been on a little road tour if you will, just completing an Atl, Nashville, Minneapolis, and Denver trip.  Got some good stuff done, met some great people, rode/slept in the newly wrapped Mobile Command Post RV, met with Federal Ammo and toured the plant, hit in batting practice, won a golf tournament, made my record setting JumboTron appearance in Atl, and took 2 pictures with women who swore I was Zac Brown (chicken-fried guy), I am much better looking than he is, HA.

The best part of what I do as my job is getting out and hanging with folks who love hunting.  I promise to blog more and let all you guys know all the goings on for the Buck Commander crew.  Til next time….
