The Buckmen
Chipper Jones was born and raised in Florida where his father taught him the game of baseball and shared his love for the outdoors. Jones is a 14 year veteran for the Atlanta Braves and is making his case for a future spot in Baseball's "Hall of Fame". He was named the National League MVP in 1999 and he ranks as one of the greatest switch-hitters to ever play the game. During the off-season from baseball, he enjoys spending time with his family & friends on his ranch in South Texas. This is where his relationship with fellow Buck Commander Matt Duff was forged and through their common interests of baseball and big whitetails, a lifelong friendship was created. As co-owner, and one of the featured personalities on the Buck Commander DVD, Chipper brings an attitude and zeal for deer hunting that few rarely get to see from one of Major League Baseball's biggest stars.
Q: How long have you been hunting?
A: 25 years
Q: Who introduced you to deer hunting?
A: My dad, we used to run dogs at my camp in Florida.
Q: What is your favorite state to hunt? Why?
A: South Texas is awesome because the amount of big bucks running around, and you never know what's gonna' step out!
Q: What is your most memorable deer hunt?
A: My first bow kill last year!
Q: How big was your biggest buck?
A: 184" 6x5, 16 scorable points.
Q: What's your "dream" buck (your ideal trophy) ?
A: A clean 8 point that went Boone and Crockett
Q: Do you have any hunting supersitions?
A: Don't shoot my cameraman, haha!
Q. Bow hunting or gun hunting? Why?
A: Bow, I thought shooting a rifle at long distances took skill, but closing in on a big buck with a bow takes way more skill.
Q: Tell us about your first deer hunt?
A: I shot a short horned spike with my dad in Florida, he was at 127 steps!
Q: What is your favorite Movie?
A: Pearl Harbor
Q: If Hollywood wanted to make a movie about your life, what famous actor would play you? Why?
A: I would have to say Paul Walker, from Fast and the Furious, because he's the coolest actor I know!
Q: If you couldn't deer hunt, what else would you do during the off season?
A: I would play golf or fish, but I'm not betting on that ever happening, haha!

Welcome to Buck Commander
Buck Commander was formed on the heels of a rich history of entertaining hunters through the Duck Commander series of videos. In creating Buck Commander, one of our goals was to capture the same passion for deer that the Robertson family has shown for years with ducks; another was to have a great time doing it. We’ve brought together a group of guys who work hard at what they do, are successful in their fields and who hunt deer just like you. We plan to bring a fresh real personality to deer hunting. And that’s what makes it worth watching!
